File setup guidelines.
PDFs.
Please give us print quality PDF files, you will get your
job quicker with no font issues or other surprises if correctly
set up. Use
Press Quality settings in distiller, at the correct print size
for optimal image quality. If you can't then change image compression
to ZIP to retain image quality when enlarged in the Rip.
Scans.
Large format: 150ppi max at output size. Laser: 200ppi.
Colour
space: RGB images with embedded profile will give accurate
colour but please check the CMYK preview as some RGB colours may
not print as on screen.
EPS files. Please outline
your fonts as these are often forgotten and Quark collect for
output will not pick this up. Please be aware that vector
objects will degrade if enlarged more than 100% so please save
as close to print size as possible. Saving large EPS files without
a preview will result in a much smaller file size.
Online
file transfers. Please compress your job files with Stuffit
(Mac) or Winzip (PC) unless PDFs. This keeps all your job files
together as well as keeping transmission times down.
Spot
colour matching. Pantone colours can be matched fairly closely,
please advise when supplying colour critical jobs. EPS, Postscript
or PDF files only. Selecting pantone equivalent cmyk colours in
your application will not work. The spot colour needs to be named
in your postscript file.
